HOW TO APPLY TO A PODIATRY RESIDENCY

The Mercy Health Partners Podiatry Residency Program at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center is a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals. All of our applications go through the central application process (CASPR). The 2008-2009 CASPR program calendar has previously been sent to you. The deadline for all materials to be sent directly to our program is December 1, 2008. On the CD-ROM you have also received, as well as at the CASPR internet site ( www.aacpm.org/residencies/CASPRdir.asp ) you can review what our program offers regarding rotations, resident requirements, benefits and applicant requirements. We do not have a GPA requirement. Applicants to be considered to the program do not have to have done an externship at our institution. It would be helpful to you at the interview process to have some knowledge of our program. If you would like to visit the program, we will be happy to show you our facilities. You may call our Program Coordinator, Karen Bash, at 419-251-4613 to make arrangements.

We participate in the CRIP process. We will be at the central CRIP this year in Chicago on January 2009. Once we have received all application materials, you will be notified regarding your interview status after December 1. We conduct two interviews during the CRIP weekend. The match date this year is March 2009.

We are a PM&S-36 program. If you have any questions, I can be reached via e-mail at mcragel@aol.com or at 419-693-4171.

We appreciate your interest in our program. It is our goal to help this transitional period go smoothly for you. We appreciate that this can be a hectic and sometimes stressful time in your professional life.
