A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR,

I believe this is a very exciting era to be in the health care profession and to be a family physician and even more exciting to be a Mercy Family Physician. I share this belief with scores of graduates of this program now for almost four decades.  Our sponsoring institution has earned the privilege of being amongst the top quartile of nationwide teaching facilities. Mercy Health Partners Family Medicine bears the distinction of being its first residency program. According to the Future of Family Medicine Task Force Report, Family Physicians have been responsible not only for "humanizing medicine", but also for upholding 'science based quality care'. We at the Mercy Health Partners Family Medicine Residency Program live up to that!

Our goal is to provide a diverse experience and evidence based education that can prepare adult learners not only for the challenges of "the real world", but also engrain learning tools and skills which enhance llifelong learning and improvement.  We take advantage of the complementary and diverse strengths of our faculty who help our residents stretch and strengthen their abilities.

We take pride in our residents who are a great group to work and learn with. We help prepare our residents to provide competent and compassionate care, which is comprehensive and continuous for the entire family. Our competency based curriculum is set up to satisfy requirements by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and at the same time provides ample flexibility to fulfill personal growth and educational goals. Team work with our nusring and support staff has maintained patient satisfaction ratings. Our graduating residents provide services in the suburban, urban and rural settings covering the full spectrum of Family Medicine including inpatient care, emergency and urgent care and academic medicine. We boast a superior academic credit and ABFM certification pass rate by our graduating residents

We maintain an environment of openness and feedback which allows incorporation of new technology into our core. We maintain our vow and tradition of upholding the sacredness of life, integrity, respect and excellence of service.
