Director of Internal Medicine - Vijay Mahajan, M.D.
Dr. Mahajan obtained his Doctorate in Medicine in India. He completed a clinical research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He was on the faculty at Beth Israel Hospital at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts as instructor, and later as Assistant Professor in Medicine. He has been at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center since 1978 and been Director of Internal Medicine teaching since 1980. Dr. Mahajan is Associate Director of Residency and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. He has been recognized for teaching excellence on numerous occasions by the medicine housestaff and medical students. He has been the recipient of The Golden Apple Award. He was recognized as “Best Volunteer Clinical Teacher” by the American College of Physicians and American Academy of Internal Medicine. Dr. Mahajan has also authored more than fifty scientific publications.
